How to Use the Cricut Mug Press?

Cricut Mug Press to Computer

For first-timers, it can be confusing to use the  Cricut Mug Press properly. Here are the essential steps that should be kept in mind when getting started with this machine:

Set up the Machine

  • Remove all the packaging from the press.
  • Insert the power cable into the back of the machine.
  • Connect the other end of the cable to your desktop system.
  • If your computer has Design Space installed, open it.
  • At the top left, click the three horizontal lines.
  • Select “New Product Setup.”
  • Click Heat Press > Cricut Mug Press.
  • Now, follow the on-screen steps to download any updates required.
  • Once this is complete, remove the USB cable from both devices, and you’re now ready to use the machine.

Make Your First DIY Project

  • Open Design Space and create your infusible ink design. If your design is already cut and ready, move to the next step.
  • Take your mug and clean it with a lint roller.
  • Wrap your design around the mug and use heat-resistant tape to hold it in position.
  • Put the mug into the preheated mug press. Make sure the handle is facing you and the lever is up.
  • When the mug is in the right place, push the lever down.
  • Wait until all the little dots are lit. This means the mug process is done.
  • Lift the lever and carefully remove the mug by holding only the handle.
  • Do not touch the mug surface as it will be very hot.
  • Turn off the machine and let it cool down.
  • Place the mug on a heat mat and let it cool for 10 to 15 minutes. Don’t remove the transfer sheet.
  • Once the mug is completely cool, remove the tape and the transfer sheet.
